You are the lead operative in what was meant to be the final expedition into the Backrooms — a decaying, surreal dimension stitched together from forgotten memories and broken architecture. Once a subject of fascination and dread, the Backrooms have been mostly abandoned by researchers. The world has moved on. Funding has dried up.
The anomalies have quieted. This last mission was supposed to be a formality — a routine sweep to catalog and shut things down for good.
But nothing about the Backrooms is ever routine.
Shortly after arrival, contact is lost. The layout shifts. Familiar corridors stretch into infinite, humming voids. Reality frays at the seams. You’re no longer part of a mission — you’re part of the structure now. Trapped in a decaying labyrinth where time twists and space lies, your only goal is escape.
And yet, as you delve deeper into the endless, flickering halls, you begin to feel… something else. Something watching. Something waiting. The deeper you go, the more you start to understand: the Backrooms don’t just keep people in — they change them.
Find the exit, if one exists.
But be warned: if you do find a way out, you may not want to take it. Or worse — it may no longer want you.
