The objective of Chromaticity is to paint all the paintable areas of each level a needed specific color; there are fifteen total levels. About the development of this map, so for the mechanic of painting areas needing a specific color, that took me like I'd estimate 20-30 game crashes and as well as an entire world to get working. The reason is complicated.
I based the mechanic of Chromaticity (i.e. the paint bottles) off a video game called De Blob. In De Blob you go around painting buildings of your current color and as well as go on quests. You can change your color by ground pounding or charging into paint bots scattered in each level. The paint colors in De Blob are: Red, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Green, Purple, and Brown. Early in development I actually had the primary colors set to Red, Yellow, and Blue but in the end changed them to Magenta, Yellow, and Cyan because I feel like they're better primary colors.
